Span

The deflection of the grating can be determined by means of the load and span. Below we make a distinction between 2 types of span:

• Net span: the span between 2 bearing points, excluding bearing.
• Gross span: the span between 2 bearing points, including bearing.

If the deflection of the grating is too high, the grating can be provided with additional support.
